Proposed Bylaw Changes

The Central Ohio ISSA is the 6th largest chapter within our international organization, with approximately 400 members.  We regularly deliver more than 200 hours of instruction and presentation to our members and the public on an annual basis, and we do so for the most part, with a staff of seven voting directors on our board.  We have consistently maintained the smallest board and number of volunteers of any top ten ISSA Chapter, while maintaining very high levels of both program activity and program quality.  In order to build upon our current program schedule, the board recommends the addition of two new voting directors to the organization, a Sponsorship Director and a Director of Speaker Resources.

Additionally, the board recommends that in order to ensure a timely execution of chapter elections, that our by laws require the nominating committee to provide a timeline of executable action items that adhere to the by laws.  An example of such a timeline will be posted on the website through the general meeting and will then be included in the Chapter SOP.

All members in good standing are hereby informed of the recommended changes to our by laws and are directed to review the changes, posted here on the chapter website. Should the proposed changes be adopted by our members, the board-appointed volunteers shall become directors with voting rights on the board, and shall stand for election in sequential years, as per the by laws.

This matter will be presented to the members at our annual General Meeting on January 17, 2018. Should you have any questions or comment prior to the meeting please contact us at
